“Marines with Washington at Princeton, 3 January 1777”<\/b>
Print by Colonel Charles Waterhouse, USMCR (ret.) depicts General George Washington on horseback leading Contentinental Marines and Philadelphia militiamen in an attack against the British during the Battle of Princeton. <\/p>\n

In January 1777, Washington and his troops marched through the snow on the way to fight the Battle of Princeton. Based on the full color, wrap-around cover for Rutgers Press<\/i> this print is a revised and improved composition of the original American Legion scratchboard drawing. It was an important picture in the career of Waterhouse, resulting in many new historical commissions. It was also a vital factor in his selection by the US Marine Corps to become Artist-in-Residence.<\/p>\n
